HI
I had the facebook iconnect app set up and working, including friends inviter
I then started using CDN for the website
The friends inviter still works but when invitee clicks on the link the app shows the ssl error
apps.facebook.com/isleofwightcommunity/
Has anyone else suffered this issue when using CDN
Site is hosted on a shared server, UK2.net, using cloudflare for CDN
UK2 support findings - so basically your ssl encrypts the connection between your server and cloudflare, but cloudflare does not encrypt the connection between the rest of the world and itself
Any help much appreciated
NB - At present the friends inviter directs to the FB app
The above would not be so much of a concern if the inviter linked to my website rather than the FB app - Is this achievable and if so how please

Cloudflare SSL should be fine for loading your site within a Facebook Application. It sounds like something isn't configured correctly though. When I go to your site using https, I get

SSL connection error
ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR

It seems like https isn't working on your site at all. Once your site loads in a browser over https, please try the Facebook Canvas area again. If it still doesn't work, let us know, and we'll gladly help investigate further.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi
Thank you for looking into this
I have since received a response from cloudflare -
"If you signed up for CloudFlare through one of our hosting partners, it will be a bit longer before we can enable Universal SSL. This is due to a technical limitation on how we need to provision the Universal SSL certificates. We think we can solve the technical limitation and expect that we'll be able to support Universal SSL through partners soon."
Looks like I shall need to change this so I am set up direct with cloudflare or wait a while
So as far as I understand, It is the SSl via CDn via a 3rd party that is causing the issue, If it's gonna happen it will happen to me!
I will post an update when resolved or further info available
Thank you again
Regards
Iain

Iain,
That is normal operating procedure for Cloudflare through their partners.. so don't feel too singled out. Once that's going, things should work. If not though, just let us know and we'll gladly continue to help however we can.

Thanks,
Alex
