Hi!
I´m searching, but found nothing clear...

I need help how to set up joomla / jfbc so that when someone is logged in via FB (works well) his friends-list (i know, only who also use this app) is imported.
I´m using Jomsocial too, so there is a advanced profile.
Now only the Name & Avatar is imported.

Perhaps someone can help me which exact code WHERE i have to add, i´m have NO Idea.
Would be great if it´s possible to "add" this feature to the Login-Module, so extend the Login Form with JFBC with this feature!

Thanks!!

JFBConnect doesn't have a method to automatically import the user's friend data. That would take a bit of work because we don't have anywhere to store the information about each user's friend. If you can explain what you're trying to do with the friend-list information, we may be able to help provide you with some code you could use to pull that data. However, what you do with it after it's been fetched from Facebook would be something you (or a developer) would need to implement, and would likely take some effort.

I´m using Jomsocial too, so there is a advanced profile.
Now only the Name & Avatar is imported.

You can configure how profile data is imported in the JFBConnect -> Profiles section. If the fields aren't importing properly as configured there, let us know what fields aren't importing. Also, please make sure you're testing with the Facebook Administrator of your app if you haven't had the additional profile permissions approved by Facebook.

Would be great if it´s possible to "add" this feature to the Login-Module, so extend the Login Form with JFBC with this feature!

What feature are you talking about here? The friends list or profile data? I'm a little confused, but hopefully I've answered everything you're looking for above.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex, thanks for your quick answer!

What i want to do with this:
I don´t want users to connect to their already existing friends on my jomsocial.

when i´m on "Tripadvisor" for example, i´m automatically connect with my facebook friends, don´t have to search "is x/Y using this site too?"

So, would be great to "store" the facebook friends in my jomsocial for example.

-> so, best case: login to my site / community and already have some friends (which i have from Facebook)

Thanks a lot!

Veith,
It's a really good idea and something I've added to our to-do list for investigation. I don't know the amount of work it would take or when we'd be able to add such a feature, but it is something I think others would like on their site as well.

Thank you,
Alex
