Need to have radio, TV shows post to Facebook and twitter a few days before air time, also need book signings, conferences, webinars, rallies, marches, etc. to auto post as well. We use jEvents as our calendar app, and what we want to have happen is that as authorized people post to our calendar, those events will auto post to our Facebook and twitter pages at the same time. We plan to be a hub for many organizations. We also want people to be able to post events to their own Facebook and twitter pages as well, though we don't want that process to be an auto post process, we want that to be an affirmation process.

Not sure how to make this happen.

I sort of solved this by creating an Events tab in Facebook through the JFBConnect Facebook Configuration in Autotune. This grabs all the events from jEvents and displays them fairly nicely without my even having to format anything. Now if the other social media were this easy, I'd be able to take a vacation.

Well maybe not. All it says is that there are no events listed on my page.

Sorry for the delay to this. I just responded to your other post about the review process from Facebook. It's possible that you may need to go through the review process since it does sound like you want the general audience to be able to post.

With that said, a lot of what you're looking to do is not something we currently support. JFBConnect doesn't have auto-posting features for pushing contents to social networks automatically as they are posted.

Are you showing this within your Facebook Page somewhere? The URL you set for the Page Tab URL is what will be displayed within Facebook. So, if it displays those events on your site, they should show in your Page. Unfortunately, the other networks don't have an easy way to show a URL from your site in an easy way.

As to your specific questions:

We use jEvents as our calendar app, and what we want to have happen is that as authorized people post to our calendar, those events will auto post to our Facebook and twitter pages at the same time.

As noted, we don't have a way to auto-post content. This would have to be done 'manually' using the social toolbar.

We plan to be a hub for many organizations. We also want people to be able to post events to their own Facebook and twitter pages as well, though we don't want that process to be an auto post process, we want that to be an affirmation process.

The best way I'd recommend to do this is simply with the Facebook Like/Share and Twitter Share buttons. This will share the URL along with the Open Graph tags and Twitter descriptions back to the user's feed. It's really the best way to do sharing of content as that's what the social networks *want* you to use. I wouldn't try to come up with other solutions for this unless you have very specific needs and reasons too.

I hope that helps answer your questions,
Alex

Thanks, at least I know the limitations and won't try to exceed those. I used the URL to the events calendar for the Page Tab, and I see it reflected in the Facebook Developers account.

I will just tell people to share or like their post on the calendar after it is saved.

I guess I will just add everyone through page roles and have them authenticate on the front end so that they can post to the website's page.

I will then want the general public to be able to post these events to their own pages, so I will have to add the appropriate script to the event so that the button shows up in the page for the event.
