I have been told that new members cannot register. It gives error message. Some have told me that they get activation email, but nothing happens.

site: judahlives.com, cocoasoul.com (parked)

I just tested on the first site you listed. After clicking the Facebook button, my account was automatically created, my profile and avatar were imported and I was automatically logged in. I didn't need to activate my account at all.

Can you explain more about what's happening:
* What error are you getting? What is the specific message
* Is it only on new registrations, or are users having issues logging in as well?
* For activation.. why is activation happening at all? Is that what you expect? What does "nothing happens" mean.. is there an error message about activation, what page are they brought to, etc?

Let us know any info you can and we'll do whatever we can to help.

Thanks,
Alex

When a person attempts to register, various things happen: times out in first phase, gives error message at end of registration. Facebook login is fine. its the registration process that is the problem.

Thanks for the clarification. If Facebook registration is fine, and the issue only happens when a user is registering using JomSocial, I don't think we're the right people to help you. I'd recommend contacting the JomSocial developers for support.

If there's a reason you think that JFBConnect is causing the problem, just let us know and we'll gladly help investigate however we can.. but I'm just not sure what we can do.

Thanks,
Alex

So are you saying that JFBC only does the facebook part of login, but does not perform the registration component?

JFBConnect can let a user authenticate through Facebook (and the other social networks). If you have the "Enable Automatic Registration" setting enabled in JFBConnect, then a user's account will automatically be created. If that's disabled, they will go through a registration flow where they need to fill out any missing information.

If the user isn't clicking the "Facebook" button to login/register, then JFBConnect has no part in other registration flows. If they click "Create an Account" in JomSocial, and they aren't able to register that way, the issue likely isn't related to JFBConnect at all. In that case, you'd need to contact JomSocial to determine the problem.

I hope that helps explain more,
Alex
