Hi,

I've setup the facebook integration and activated all Facebook settings.

But posting the status to Facebook and import Facebook status to JS isn't working.

I've already opened a ticket at the Jomsocial support and got his answer:

You're correct, after I clicked "Okay" and then redirected to regular registration form.
You're using JFBC not native JomSocial facebook integration.
Please, contact with JFBC developers.

Kindly advise.

Cheers
Kai

If you are using JFBConnect, the settings in your screenshot above will have no effect. To enable JomSocial status messages to be pushed to Facebook and also Facebook messages to be pulled down to JomSocial, you will need to do the following:

1. Enable JFBConnect's 'Social Profiles - JomSocial' plugin.
2. In the JFBConnect > Profiles > JomSocial tab, please turn on the 'Import Social Network Status' option to get the status from Facebook to JS and the 'Push Social Network Status' option to push JS messages to Facebook.
3. Please note, that these actions require extended permissions from Facebook. Therefore, if you have not submitted your application through Facebook's approval process yet, you will need to log in on your site the admin of your Facebook application.
4. Additionally please note that only public posts in JomSocial are pushed to Facebook, so make sure to set the correct privacy setting on your new posts while testing.

This should help point you in the right direction but please let us know if you run into any problems.

Hi Melissa,

thanks for your reply.

I've set up everything in Joomla now.
Do you know which permissions in the facebook app are relevant for this? Is it read_stream & user_posts?

If yes, do you have some tips how to explain facebook why and how I want to use that 2 items for my app?
I wanted to setuo some more items in the past and everything has been denied from facebook's review team. :(

Cheers
Kai

The permissions are for user_status and publish_actions.

* User_status is the permission required for when the user posts on their Facebook profile and you want to pull it into the user's JomSocial stream on your webpage.
* Publish_actions is the permission required for when the user posts on their JomSocial stream on your page and you want to push it to their personal Facebook profile.

When submitting, please try to include as many specific details as possible. The Facebook reviewers deal with countless apps daily, so they are not going to take the time to figure out how your page or application works. For instance, when providing steps for tests, give them the exact URLs to go to on your page, which buttons to press, where to enter the posts in JomSocial, etc. Go through the process yourself as if you were a new user on your page, and write down every explicit step.
