I have a Facebook channel set up for a page. It all works without any errors but the problem I'm having is that it posts to the facebook page wall as the associated user. Rather than posting as the facebook page. I did have the facebook page 'post attribution' setting to post as myself at one point. I changed that setting back to 'post as the page' which works fine on facebook but JFBConnect posts as myself to the facebook page wall.

Any ideas on how to fix this? I tried logging in and out of the website front end with facebook. Tried deleting and recreating the facebook channel. Logged in and out of facebook. Can't seem to get it working right.

The only setting that you should need is the Post Attribution setting. I'm not sure of any other setting that would cause the problem you're having.

Please make sure that you are logged into Facebook.com and go to the Settings area for the Page with the same user that you are using on your site in JFBConnect. The Post Attribution setting is per admin user for the Page, so some admins may post as the Page and others may post as themselves.

Please double-check, but if that doesn't help, let us know, and we'll see what more we can do.

Thanks,
Alex

I have double checked the post attribution setting for the page and it is set as post as the page. It is the same user that the channel is linked to. On Facebook it works correctly posts are attributed to the page by default. I tried again today from the website to double check and it is still posting as the user to the page.

Is the Facebook user the admin of both the Facebook Page *and* the Facebook Application that you're using on your website? That's helpful to make sure all the permissions are being requested properly and you don't have to go through the review process.

Either way, can you go to Facebook.com and use the down arrow in the top right and go to Settings. Then,
* Click "Apps" from the left column.
* Click "Show All"
* Find the Application for your website.
* Click into your App

Let me know the bolded items under the section "INFO YOU PROVIDE TO THIS APP:" and "THIS APP CAN:". That will let me know the permissions you've granted.

If you want to start from scratch to test again, you can click the "Remove app" link at the bottom. That will force you to re-approve the permissions the next time you authenticate on your site using Facebook which may help. You'll need to also delete and recreate the Channel though to make sure everything is cleared in JFBConnect properly as well. That's the quickest test you can do that may get everything working again though by re-granting permissions and getting the updated permission token from Facebook.

Thanks,
Alex

Tried a few things but still a bit lost with this.

I can confirm that the facebook user is the the admin of the app and an admin of the page.

INFO YOU PROVIDE TO THIS APP
- Public profile
- Email address

THIS APP CAN
- Post
- Manage your pages
- Send you notifications

I removed the app, recreated app, ran autotune, deleted channel, recreated channel, reauthorised manage your pages. Still does the same behaviour.. posts as myself to the page rather than posting as the page. Help?

I'm using the latest versions.. Joomla 3.4.1 and JFBConnect 6.3

I'm very confused then. The behavior you describe is not something we've heard of before. The proper permissions are being requested and granted. JFBConnect simply tells Facebook that a post is to be made. When that happens, it's up to Facebook to decide how that post is displayed and it's decided (to my knowledge) based on the Post Attribution setting describe previously.

With that said, I just re-read some documentation from Facebook and it does seem like there's another way we could be making the request to force the post to be on behalf the admin. That hasn't been necessary in the past, but it's possible it's a nuance change that we missed. We'll have to do some more investigation and see what we can do to help get things going for you.

Thanks,
Alex
