Could you clarify this statement? Are you saying that 1) the avatar imports correctly when the user is created and logged in the first time, but then disappears on any subsequent login attempts or 2) the avatar never imports correctly?
Could you post a screenshot of the settings from the JFBConnect > Profiles > JomSocial tab so we can see how the import is configured?

That post is extremely old (almost 5 years old). Could you tell me which of the suggestions that you tried from that thread?
