Hello! I am writing to see if anyone has integrated anything with JEvent yet? I don't want to redesign the wheel if I don't have to. I want to incorporate the same publish as exist in the Joomla & K2 items. So, once an event is published, an admin can open the event and click to create a post about the event. I understand that FB does not support creating events directly through the API anymore?! That seems like a terrible decision if so... Anyway, any help that can be provided would be great! Thanks ahead of time!

We don't have JEvents specific integration, but our social toolbar can be used to publicize any events you've created on your site to your Facebook Page or Group, Twitter Stream or LinkedIn Company page, just like from any other extension or page from your site.

Regarding events in general, you're correct, Facebook recently crippled the API for events. You can edit events that have been created, but you can't create new ones using the API:
developers.facebook.com/docs/graph-api/reference/v2.2/event

I hope that helps, but if you need any more information on the above, please post from the account you subscribed to JFBConnect from. I see you've made a few other posts with questions in them, but it doesn't look like you've ever subscribed. We can't help you further without an active subscription.

Thanks,
Alex

Alex,

Thanks for your reply. I have actually subscribed under a different email but, I don't want the post that I create being sent to the other email. It's a different users information.

I'm assuming that I need to create a new object and action in the open graph in my FB App and associate that information to a new Story "Attend an Event". Then I can create a new custom object and custom action in JFBConnect linking to the custom module for the JEvent Registration module. I will fool around with it and see if I can come up with a working post. I was just hoping someone had already done this, I already have a ton of items in this "upgrade" project that still need to be done. Anyway, thanks for your reply.

Jay

If you're trying for an Open Graph Action, yes, that's what you'd do for letting a user click a "I'm attending" or "I went" type button. I hope that helps, but let us know how that goes for you.

As for support, I understand if you want to use a separate email / account. However, for more technical support, please post (at least once) from the account you subscribed from. You could also post a link to your page and we can look up your autotune and account information that way as well. Support is where a large portion of our cost goes, so we simply need to be sure we're helping our active subscribers.

Thanks,
Alex
