Hi,
is there a way to have the URL link in social share module to convert to tiny url or something. Especially if sharing to twitter.

No, there isn't. Twitter automatically converts shared URLs to their t.co shortened format, so the URL takes up 20-22 characters of the Tweet and that's it.
