I tried to follow the instructions to set up facebook, and when I went to create a channel, it does not allow me to. I deleted the app from my personal page and logged in again and made sure I accepted all of the permissions. Then I deleted the whole app and started over again following the setup instructions.

I tried to follow the instructions to set up facebook, and when I went to create a channel, it does not allow me to.

Please describe the behavior when you try to create the channel. More specifically, please provide any error messages that you are seeing, the behavior you're expecting vs the behavior that is occurring. We need more specifics to help you resolve the issue.

It was taking too much time for the website I was going to use it for. I am going to learn your product on a site that has not really begun to be developed yet.

I followed the setup instructions and have logged in with facebook. When I try to create a channel with that profile I get the following message:

"The selected user has not granted the "manage_pages" permission. Please have them login on the front-end of the site and accept the correct permission."

P.S. I double checked and it seems I should be able to create the channel as long as I am using a user who is an admin on the app?

A few questions:

* When you log in with Facebook on the front-end of the site:
1) Make sure the user is the same one that you have selected in the channel
2) Is the user an admin of your Facebook application or just a regular user with no app privileges?
3) Are there any prompts for granting permissions?

* Can you look at the page source, search for the text "jfbc.login.scope" and tell me what the comma-separated list of values are?

* In Facebook, can you login with the user you just authenticated with on your site's front-end? Then go to Settings > Apps > open the application. Can you take screenshots of the text that is displayed here so we can see what permissions have been approved?

1) Make sure the user is the same one that you have selected in the channel - Yes, I tried with two different users with different facebook accounts.

2) Is the user an admin of your Facebook application or just a regular user with no app privileges? - Yes, both are admins of the facebook app.

3) Are there any prompts for granting permissions? When you first link an account, there are permissions, but they do not include the needed ones.

* Can you look at the page source, search for the text "jfbc.login.scope" and tell me what the comma-separated list of values are? - Not sure how to do this.

There are no images attached. To add them to the post, you have to hit the green curvy arrow after you upload them.

If it would be easier, you could PM me credentials to your backend and add my Facebook account temporarily as a developer to your application; I can give you my ID in PM if you are interested. There's an envelope icon under my avatar to send the message.

When I visit your page frontend, I am getting the following prompt:

I think the problem is that this logs you in with your Joomla account. When you log out, it just brings you back to that screen. So there is no way to then re-authenticate with your Facebook credentials and get the permission prompt again since you're always forced to be logged in with your Joomla account. Can you temporarily disable this so your site loads without forcing you to login via Joomla and then click the Facebook button to log in? I think this will be the only way that you'll get the prompt, since your site is blocked for normal access.

Sorry,

I didn't mention that. When I test JFBconnect, I always put the site completely online. Whenever I am not working on the site, I put it back offline because I do not want peoiple finding it. You can see from the pictures that I sent that I was logged into the front end with both "superuser" and at another time with "Bishop Ron." Both are administrators on the facebook app. You will notice that Superuser is connected to all of the social networks and Bishop Ron only to facebook. I used the facebook not the joomla login each time.

I also tried again with the site online. I tried all three users but got the same messages.

It's offline right now. Could you go ahead and put it online again? I should have time to investigate some more this morning, but need it to be online so that I can attempt to authenticate with Facebook.
