I have a Facebook Page feed in a module on the far right of the page at www.independentsportsnews.com/harbour-towers-headlines

Upon first view of this page, the feed show fine. But if one refreshes the page it disappears for the most part, although there is some coding there that shows up in all white text.

If delete the sites cache and refresh the page the feed shows up again. We use Jotcache for caching pages, but always have and this module worked fine under it originally.

Any ideas what is causing this behaviour?

Thanks!

After refreshing the page, it doesn't look like our JFBCFan Easy-tag is being translated to the correct Facebook code properly. Make sure that you order the JotCache system plugin after the JFBCSystem plugin. Any caching plugins should be ordered later.

However, let us know if the plugin ordering is already correct.

I rearranged the order of the plugins so that it is the first of the system plugins and the problem persisted.

I turned jotcache off and the problem went away, so it certainly is a caching thing. Any other suggestions?

After you re-arrange the plugins, you'll need to clear the JotCache cache so that things are re-cached properly with the new ordering.

That should get you going, but if not, let us know.

The complete cache on this site is deleted every 15 minutes. The problem remains.

What page should we be looking at now to see the problem? The one you linked to above comes up with a 404 and I'm not seeing the feed or code in the page anywhere. Navigating to other pages doesn't show either as well.

Either way, we know this is a caching configuration issue from what you stated above. We'll gladly try to help however we can, but we don't know how JotCache works or how you have it configured. I'd recommend going through all your JotCache settings or possibly contacting their developers to determine what it's doing.

Thanks,
Alex

Sorry about the broken URL. Our client asked for their full name in the url so we changed it. I've fixed it so it works - and redirects to www.independentsportsnews.com/harbour-towers-hotel-suites

I thought one thing to try would be to turn caching on in the module as well, but I don't see an option for this in the module. I know that Jotcache works with some kind of connection to the native Joomla cache system. If the module did have a caching option do you think that might make a difference?

We don't do any caching for that module. Would you mind PM'ing me credentials to your backend so I can poke around to investigate? Just use the envelope icon under the avatar to send the message.
