Hi,
Everything has been working great, but for some reason the avatar isn't being pulled now...
This only happened once I signed in via the Joomla sign in form (and my avatar was changed to a default image - so it deleted my FB image), and then since signing in with FB again, the image doesn't load...
Any ideas?
Thanks...
Matt

What extension are you using to store your image? Also, please make sure in the JFBConnect -> Profiles area that the "Always Import Data" and "Import Avatar" settings are enabled for whatever extension you're using.

Beyond that, I'm not sure why signing in with Joomla would reset your image. That sounds like odd behavior right there. Was that expected?

Either way, once we know the extension you're importing into, we may have other advice on what may be wrong.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi,
I'm using K2, and my settings are set as you suggested already...
That's not what's meant to happen at all, no - it's just mean to overwrite the avatar every time you login.
If you could have a look here , that'd be great...
Do you need the admin login / ftp?
If so, I can ping over those details by email?
Cheers,
Matt

Matt,

Could you PM me an invitation code so I can create a user on the front-end? I tried to create a test account via FB and having trouble (keep getting an error about entering a telephone number even though I have entered one). To private message, use the little envelope icon under my avatar on the left. You can include the admin/ftp details in the PM as well in case we need them.

Creating my test user and logging in and out seems to work. The avatar was present after each time. The following are the three different scenarios for testing.
1. Created an account via FB button and activated account. Avatar is present.
2. Logged out and logged back in with FB. Avatar is present.
3. Logged out and logged back in with Joomla login. Avatar is present.

There were some strange invalid rows in your JFBConnect User Map table related to your account. I deleted them, so could you re-login and see if the avatar is imported properly in to K2 again?

Still no joy I'm afraid... it's not pulling it in...
That's great that it's working well for new users though, but a bit concerning that it's not working for me still, as half the posts etc are mine! ha.
Are there any weird rows in the K2 user table as well?
Shall I try deleting all the old images too?
Thanks

I deleted all the existing images related to my user, and this time it's worked!
Phew!
Thanks for helping...

I was in the middle of testing on your site and replying when I noticed that you had an avatar again.

By the way, when you were logging in again, were you using your Joomla credentials or the Facebook login button? If you used the Joomla credentials and not the FB button, the avatar won't reimport (by design). That might have been part of the problem.

I'm glad it's working now. I'm still a little puzzled why there were strange entries in your user map table, so please let me know if you start to encounter the problem again.

Nope, I was logging in through the Facebook button. That's why it was odd... I was testing adding and removing images through the standard K2 upload as well to see how it functioned (my main concern was that I couldn't control the cropping of images to square through the standard K2 upload, nor for the life of me work out where it was controlled).

Any ideas? Or can I push all image uploads through JFBconnect?

Thanks
