Topic-icon Like and share button - include and exclude

Hi,

In the configuration I have activated content plugin - like for article view setting. And typed in one article number for include - but the buttons now also show up in other articles than this one.

To me, it looks like we are missing the setting for articles than we have for categories: All, Include, Exclude.

Or at least - if any article numbers are entered for include or exclude - this should now be the overall filter.
Or maybe I misunderstand the setting in a way.

Thanks,

Claus.

It may be a little confusing, but the flexibility is there to do whatever you want. The include and exclude article IDs always has the first priority, so if you add specific IDs to include or exclude, the social buttons will always show (or not). That's regardless of the category setting.

The category setting can be use for more broad settings. So, if you don't want the social buttons to show anywhere except for a select few articles, you should configure it as:
* Category - Exclude and select all categories
* Article Include - whatever specific IDs you want to have social buttons. Even though the parent category is excluded, these will still have the social buttons.

I hope that helps explain, but if you need anything else, just let us know.

Thanks Alex. It is working now.
Maybe you could make the box for selecting categories a little bit wider - I have some categories with almost the same text but I can only see the first part so they look similar...

Thanks for the suggestion. I added it to our to-do list and definitely shouldn't be difficult to do.. those are the tasks we love :) If you have anything else you'd like to see, definitely let us know.

Finally, if you haven't already, please consider leaving a rating and review for JFBConnect (or our support) on the Joomla Extension Directory. It's certainly not required, but very appreciated:

Thanks,
