Using v5.00 of JFBConnect and J2.5 - when I use the main component to show FB comments everything on the page works fine. The comments appear below the article and above a RATING module, a SOCIAL SHARE module (from AddThis) and another module which shows/hides text.

However, when I try to use the Comments Module and place it BELOW the other modules, none of the other modules work (i.e. the rating/social/show-hide modules).

Do you have any ideas how to sort this?

The image shows the module in action - the rating/share/link don't work. However if the module is disabled and the comments in the article are enabled, all works fine..

We do not recommend using version 5.0 of JFBConnect anymore as there have been numerous changes on Facebook's side that we have updated to support. Please update to JFBConnect 6.2. If you run into any issues with this feature then, we'd be glad to help you resolve them.

Is it at all possible to fix this version? I would have to buy a new version and spend another $60 to update which I don't have!

(And besides that, are we 100% sure that the new version would fix this problem?)

JFBConnect is constantly updated to be compatible with changes to the Facebook API. There have been a vast amount of changes to Facebook, and the comment and sharing options, over the last 2 years since v5.0 was released. Additionally, in April of 2015, it's expected that many of the features of JFBConnect v5.0 will cease to function due to their removal of the Graph API v1.0, which is what JFBConnect v5.0 uses.

We're honestly not sure of the specific issue that is causing your problem, but it's not something we can investigate on such an old version due to all the changes in both JFBConnect and Facebook.

Our only suggestion is to upgrade JFBConnect and determine if that helps. If not, you'll have an active subscription which is required for support, and you'll be on the latest release which is known to be compatible with Facebook, which will make an investigation and solution much easier to provide and perform.

I hope that helps answer your question,
Alex

Well... after hours at work I found the solution. Nothing to do with the component at all but simply to do with overlapping DIVs!

Thanks anyway.

Awesome! I'm glad to hear you found the solution to your problem. If you need anything else from us, just let us know.

Also, as noted above, please be aware that some features will likely break in April, 2015 due to changes in Facebook's API.

All the best,
Alex
