Hi there,

Doing an analysis of our server load (on a very very busy website), using newrelic.com, we found that the single most resource eater (using 24.49% of the CPU cycles), was the following: 24.49% plgSystemJFBCSystem::doTagReplacements

So, the question is: What does it do? Can we disable it?
If (as I suspect) creates html head tags, can we replace them with hardcoded tags in the template, so that we skim that 25% off our cpu usage?

Thank you
Konstantinos

Please upgrade to v6.2.2, if you haven't already. We completely overhauled that function and, while it still does some heavy lifting, it should be much lower on your profile chart.

If you do upgrade, we'd love to hear what the CPU count comes down to. From our testing, it's about 15x faster that the 6.0 and 6.1 releases.

I hope that helps,
Alex

Hi there,

Thanks for the answer,

We did the upgrade on Friday. Since Friday none of the transaction traces has had any of your modules in above the 1% of cpu usage. So, I will consider that it is ok for now. I will let you know if (on my setup), it shows again at some point.

Thanks

Konstantinos,
Thanks so much for getting back to us. The improvement you saw is great to hear, and what we'd expect from our code change in the 6.2 release. I'm glad it's working how it was supposed to.

If you need anything else or have any questions, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex
