Hi!
First of all, I want to give you my respect on creating such a great extension.

I'm running a website in Joomla 2.5 with almost 6000 registered users. The site is in Spanish and I'm using Jomsocial 3.0.5.3 and Alphauserpoints 1.8.3. I have a few questions to make my mind and decide buying JFBConnect:

1) How JFBConnect deals with duplicate users (ie. users already registered without JFBConnect and using email A and trying to register again using the same email A. I know this is a non sense question but my users are chaotic, they can be without logging long periods of time and when they came back they don't remember if they were already registered.

2) Is that possible to assign a social user to a existing Joomla registered user manually?

3) My site is in Spanish. Does JFBConnect is translated to that language?

4) Can JFBConnect work with Jomsocial 3.0.5.3 and Alphauserpoints 1.8.3 (they both are not[/ol] the last version)

Thanks once again.
Best regards.

Mike

No problem for the questions, it's what we're here for.
1) JFBConnect has multiple options for sites with existing users:
* You can configure JFBConnect to automatically link users that login using a social network to an existing Joomla account *if* the email address of the user from the social network matches an existing account. If so, the link will be automatic and they will log right into their existing account.
* You can disable Automatic Registration and have the users go through a short Login or Register form. The Login side will let the user authenticate with an existing account.
* You can show "Connect" buttons anywhere on your site to logged in users. If they use these buttons to authenticate to a social network, then they will be able to use that social network to login later on. You can see this from our "My Account" menu in the top right.

2) No, we don't allow this. The user has to authenticate using a social network first before they can access your site. At that point, JFBConnect will have already created a user or mapped them to an existing one.

3) Yes, we have translations for Spanish and many other languages included in our package.

4) Yup, we support those versions. They aren't that old. The newest JFBConnect v6.2.0 just added profile integration for AUP so you can import profile information into it and do point rewards. We've supported JomSocial since v1.2 and our current integration supports v3.0 and higher, no problem.

I hope that helps,
Alex

Thanks a lot for your prompt response Alex.

You can show "Connect" buttons anywhere on your site to logged in users. If they use these buttons to authenticate to a social network, then they will be able to use that social network to login later on. You can see this from our "My Account" menu in the top right.

To make sure I fully understand, if the same user has several social profiles (ie. facebook and google+) using the same email, and if the user registered to my joomla website using facebook, if he wants, he can use google+ to login to his account - despite he did not used google+ in the registration process. Is this right?

Best regards.

Correct. The user can 'connect' any of the 10 social networks we support to their existing Joomla account using any of the methods above: email match, manual login, connecting after login.

I hope that helps, but if you have any other questions, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex
