We've begun a bit of the investigation for the auto-posting, but it likely won't be in the 6.1 release (scheduled for late May/early June). The 6.1 release will have additional features for the Channels though. Mainly, the ability to pull in the streams from any Channels you've created and display them on your site. With that, you can show your full Twitter Stream, Facebook Page stream or other things is a much more customizable view, as well as mashing-up all the streams into one view.
I hope that works for you. The 6.2 release later this summer is definitely planned to have the initial features of auto-posting.
