Topic-icon og:image tag set correctly but FB choses another image

Dear Alex,

When people share my page about my book, the FB Open Graph data that shows up in the FB post is not what I have set in the custom tags nor what I have in the JFBConnect Open Graph configuration.

When I run the Developer Debug on the URL, everything comes back as it should but that's not what shows up in the FB post.

I was having og:image too small problems with the debug until I read through the forums and found that FB likes bigger pictures. Now that debug problem is gone because I made the desired picture big enough to satisfy debug but I'm not getting what I want in the FB posts.

Also the og:description is also not showing up. I'm getting some sales pitch for Joomla.

Please / Thanks in advance.

Can you let me know what page I should be testing from? I just tried to share your home page, and the title, description and image came up for me. If there's a specific URL on your site with issues, let me know and we'll gladly investigate!

Thanks,
Alex

Dear Alex,

I'm having trouble with both the home page and this page:

www.spikesantee.com/Books/on-sale-now.html

Which is the file that is also displayed on the home page.

I don't understand why this stuff gets cached somewhere for me but it works for you.

Here is a screen shot of what I see. I get the page banner image and some promo talk from Joomla.

Spike,
On that page is the following Open Graph tag:
<meta property="og:url" content="http://www.spikesantee.com"/>
That's telling Facebook to use the Open Graph data from your home page and *not* the current page. So, first, I'd check the JFBConnect -> Open Graph -> Configuration area and make sure you don't have a tag in the "Defaults" box that looks like:
url=http://www.spikesantee.com
If so, delete it. That will help start clearing things, but it may take Facebook a few days to detect the change.

Beyond that, the Open Graph information for the Like button looks to be taking the description from your home page correctly. Why the Share button is using the "Joomla - Dynamic content management" garbage, I'm honestly not sure. Hopefully if you clear the og:url issue up, that may clear itself up as well.

As always, keep us posted on what happens,
Alex
