I want to use the content plugin to publish social buttons on article pages in a blog (so menu item). I have set it to display all possible buttons but it only shows Linkedin, Google and Twitter. It doesn't show any Facebook Share or Pinterest buttons.

If I put the tag {JFBCLike} in a module on a page it will not display the button unless I include the href parameter but I want to have the current page so this is not an option.

Am I missing something?

That's strange. I'm not sure why the Like button wouldn't show from the content plugin, or only when an href is set in the easy-tag. Can you post (or private message) a link to your blog layout with the buttons enabled so we can have a look?

The Pinterest button is likely not showing because an image isn't set for the article to share. The Pinterest button requires an image, and so JFBConnect won't add the button if a suitable image isn't automatically found.

I hope that helps explain,
Alex

Thanks for the reply. This morning the pinterest button was there. When I checked the code it looked like it was loading but was hidden. My colleague thought there might be a conflict. (see attachment)

The site is still on my computer, localhost. Today I Thought to let you look at it so I opened a port for you. When I did the like buttons appeared. It also works with my local http://ip:port/site url. It just doesn't work when the url is http://localhost:port/site.

Wish I realized this yesterday. spent 4 hours trying to crack this.

Ahh.. glad to hear you found the problem. The localhost thing is new from Facebook, as of about a month ago. Before then, the Like button would show on localhost.

We'll keep it in mind more when responding to questions about it's disappearance and see if there's something we can do in-code to warn users as to why it may not show.

As for Pinterest, there was no attachment in the post. Please make sure you click the green arrow next to an image you upload to actually display it. We'll gladly help look into it however we can. An image may not be enough to find a conflict though, without being able to see it 'live' and understand how all the CSS and other HTML on your site could be conflicting.. just so you know.

Thanks,
Alex
