Topic-icon Errors installing updates plus warning on website

Hi,

I get errors when trying to install updates in Joomla2.5 for JFBConnect, see attachment.

Plus I get a notification on only new pages on my website in the FB plugin that says: `Warning: www.yellowgentian.com/ski-reviews/all-mo...tomic-affinity-storm is unreachable.` See attachment.
The actual correct url is by the way:
www.yellowgentian.com/ski-reviews/all-mo...tomic-affinity-storm

And as you can see on the site, this is not the case on all older pages.

Can someone have a look and tell me what is going wrong, please?
Thanks,
Alex

JFBConnect cannot be updated from the Joomla update manager. We use it to notify you that updates are available, but you'll need to download the latest release from the "My Downloads" area in SourceCoast and install it in Joomla like any other zip file. You don't need to uninstall first or do anything else to prep for the upgrade.

As for the warning on your page, that's normal when you add new pages to your site. Until Facebook scans the page (which can take 5 minutes to 24 hours), you'll see that warning message. If it's urgent, you can use the Facebook URL Debug tool to scan the page. That will immediately update Facebook's cache and remove that warning as well.

I hope that helps,
Alex

Thanks.

Using the Debugtool on another new page doesn't seem to work.

Any ideas?

FYI, you mentioned 5min-24hours. With the "affinity storm"-page it was about 4 days when the message disappeared. Maybe FB has extended its scanning period.

When I have this process working well, I'll get to the Opengraph functionality which the Debug tool also recognized as not installed properly. Or can you tell me straight away what to do to get that installed?
Debug says: Open Graph Warnings That Should Be Fixed
Inferred Property The 'og:image' property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.

Thanks a lot,
Alex

The debug tool worked for me. You can also simply click the "Warning: <link>" text, which will bring up the debugger immediately. That's what I did, and when I refreshed the page, it went away.

As for the warning in general, it goes away faster as Facebook scans more of your site. Basically, Facebook wants to know your site isn't primarily spam, malicious content, porn, etc. Once it's seen enough of your pages, it will stop putting that message on new content and just begin to 'trust' your site. It takes some time. Previously, the scanning of each page would take less than 24 hours, but it's possible that's grown a little bit. As your site gets more traffic and more content in their index, the issue will resolve itself.

By just enabling the Open Graph - Content plugin, that should fix many of those issues. If an image can be found in your Joomla articles for the page, JFBConnect will automatically set it for you. There are other ways to force an image for certain pages, but that's the best starting point. No other configuration required.

I hope that helps,
