I decided to move a jomsocial site to a different domain with a different twist on the content (social area remains the same). I've also deleted JSPT and want to use Jomsocial Multiple Profile and JFBConnect for registration.
Do you recommend using JFBConnect or jomsocial as the Registration component that I select in your configuration ?

Also, I've edited the facebook app that used to work at the previous domain and the autotune is fine except for the Page Tab
red message is :
Page Tab Default Name Value should not be blank
Where can I edit or update this as neither Facebook or my site allow changing this. The site does not have an SSL cert.

Either should work. The flexibility is there for you to choose what works best for your needs. The JFBConnect registration can be faster, with less fields. The JomSocial path can display more information to the user for them to fill out and edit during registration. We're planning to add more options to the JomSocial registration path soon as well which would allow you to hide fields that have data being imported into them. That will, again, allow for a smaller registration form, which is generally better.

Disregard that setting. The Page Tab Default Name doesn't really matter if you don't have SSL. That's something we can update on our end. Autotune in general has a saving issue that will be resolved in the v5.2.1 release, due out tomorrow. Facebook introduced a bug yesterday that we're working around.

I hope that helps,
Alex

If I opt for JFBConnect Registration does this mean that the required unique fields for the multiple profile types will need to be completed after registration.
I might be asking the obvious but do I use the required fields in jomsocial profile types, the question relates to past experience with JSPT which only works well when all the fields are left as required in Jomsocial, JSPT sets the actual required fields. Does JFBConnect do this also?

Just completed the profile set-up and moved to testing. The profile types appear to be by-passed as all profile fields are visible on registration page. See attachment.

It would be great to combine the joomla registration and JFBC/jomsocial registration onto one page.

The image you link to is of JomSocials registration flow. We don't alter that at all, other than pre-filling some fields. If some should be missing based on the user's profile type, that's up to JomSocial to handle. I'd recommend getting the registration flow setup how you want in JomSocial *without* using JFBConnect to start the process.. then, add in the social authentication portion once things are working how you want.

JFBConnect doesn't care if the fields are marked as required or not. We'll import profile data into them either way. The registration steps are where that matters, depending on whether you want them shown to the user or not.

I hope that helps,
Alex

Nigel,
EasyBlog actually has a way to enable Facebook Comments in their posts. You may want to try that first and see if it works for you. Using JFBConnect is possible, and there are some advantages. Basically, our comment box performs extra filtering on your URLs to make sure that comments don't get spread across duplicate URLs (multiple URLs that point to the same blog post) and it's responsive. However, implementing it takes some (minor) code changes to EasyBlog.

Let me know if you'd like info on how to add our comment box to their posts though, and we'll gladly help how we can.

Thanks,
Alex
