Hey Purple (or Mr. Chris) :) Glad to see you renewed, and welcome back!

- profile plugin downloads

We've updated the installers with JFBConnect and JLinked to automatically install all of the associated plugins/modules that would work for your site. There's no more hassle with installing each plugin and module individually.

- on a screenshot you have a profile plugin called db i want this too

This plugin hasn't been formally released yet. I'll gladly get it to you later today with some instructions on it's use. It's a little rough right now, but is in use on a few sites. We'd love to have your feedback on it as we're planning to include it in the v5.2 release next month.

- google plus setup instructions

Our JFBConnect Configuration Guide has been updated with a video demo of setup and new instructions for the new release. There's also a Google App Key guide that may help. If not, let me know specifically what you're looking for.

- code to add google plus button elsehwere

{JFBCLogin} will add all 3 login buttons to your site, wherever you place it. {SCGoogleLogin} will add just the login button.

I hope that helps,
Alex

Chris,
I just sent you an email with the Custom DB plugin. It should work on Joomla 2.5 or Joomla 3.x. We've tested with JFBConnect v5.1.1, but it should work with JLinked as well (though that's completely untested, so let us know if you run into issues.. it should be an easy fix).

To use, please install and then enable "Open Graph - Custom DB" in the plugin manager.
Then, go to the Profiles area of JFBConnect

In there, you'll need to add information about the database to use (if different than your Joomla database). If you're using the standard Joomla database, leave these settings blank.

The main required settings are the Database Table Name, the Table Key (which will store the user id) and the column names. The table key is critical as that will store either the user's Joomla Id or their Social Network Id. On future logins, that key will be used to look up if profile information is already there and to update that row if so.

Once you add the column names, hit 'Apply', and you'll be able to use the 'mapping' section in the bottom to select which fields are imported into your database.

Right now, we don't have an option to save the avatar using this plugin, but I can gladly add it. Let me know if this helps get you started. This plugin should be easier than writing your own, but if you have any issues or questions, we'll gladly help.

Please let us know any feedback you have. We're planning to release this with the v5.2 release with some minor improvements and fixes, but it still won't be a fit-all for every type of db table.. though it should work for a lot.. hopefully.

Thanks,
Alex

Is the table name in your Joomla installation? If it's a part of Joomla's database, make sure you're adding the table prefix (if set), so it'd be something like jos_recmgr_candidate_cv or #__recmgr_candidate_cv

When adding column names, make sure they are entered as follows:
* Comma separated
* No spaces before each new column
Looking at the code, I don't think the spaces will be a problem, but follow that rule and see if it helps. We can loosen the restrictions after we test a little.

If that's not the case, then please go to the Global Config area of Joomla and set Debug System to 'Yes'. That should hopefully show a better error message on that 500 page which could narrow down what caused the problem.

Let us know if any of that helps and we'll get you going.

Thanks,
Alex

Is the error showing up in the JFBConnect -> Profiles configuration area, when you log in, or somewhere else? Is it on all pages?

Can you get around the error at all... can you re-edit your settings in the profile area?

Just trying to narrow things down as I'm a little confused where the problem is coming from. We'll get to the bottom of it though.

Thanks,
Alex

If you delete that table name (basically blanking out all settings), does that allow you to save and properly update back to the default state? That will help narrow things down a bit more.

Also, did you enable the Debug System setting and check if there is more information in the 500 error page? With that enabled, it should show a lot more information that can help diagnose things.

Thanks,
Alex
