K2 - No Comments shown was created by kweb
Hi there,
I have recently bought JFBConnect and I must say I feel a bit helpless with all its functions. Maybe its because my english is not that good and all documentation is in english. On my website Im using K2 component. Since I have installed JFBConnect I am not able to post any comments under my articles. Here is an example:

Link

Even when I register the comment area is blank.

Any suggestions?

Cheers, kweb

Kweb,
Sorry for the confusion. We do have a very good German translation of the extension itself that hopefully is helping with your configuration.

JFBConnect only can add a Facebook Comment area to K2. We don't alter or break the normal K2 comment feature. Were you using the K2 comment area before JFBConnect? Is that what you want to use, or do you want to switch to Facebook Comments (or use both)?

If the standard comments built-in to K2 are not working, can you try disabling the JFBCSystem plugin and test again? By disabling that, it will really narrow down if JFBConnect is the cause of the problem.

Please let me know, and we'll gladly help how we can.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,
thanks for your information:

I have disabled the JFBCSystem and still the comments are not showing up. Thats kinda strange, it worked when the site went online and no configuration has been done since I have installed JFBC. I have also isntalled the newest k2 release, also overwritten the k2 template files - still no comments.

Normally I have used just the k2 comments under the post, but displaying a Facebook comment area would be nice. I really have no idea how to do this. Maybe you can help me out?!

Beste regards,
kweb

In the Social configuration area of JFBConnect, there are tabs for K2 - Comments where you can enable the comments to display.

As for the K2 comments not working, I really don't know what would be causing that. When the JFBCSystem plugin is disabled, almost all functionality of JFBConnect is disabled. We shouldn't be conflicting with K2 comments anyways (we just add FB comments), so I really don't think it's caused by JFBConnect.. but I've been proven wrong before :)

I hope the above helps, but if you need more assistance or have any other feedback or clues as to what's going on, just let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Comments left in Facebook can go onto the user's wall that posts the comments, and include a link back to your site for their friends to see and click.

If you are expecting the comment to show up in your Facebook Page, that won't happen. The Facebook Page is separate from your website, and if comments were pushed automatically there, it could be confusing without the context of the article itself. There's no way to show comments from your site on your Facebook Page.

I hope that helps explain,
Alex
