Hi,

I recently updated jomsocial 3.0 and JFBconnect to the latest version. Now my {JFBLogin} button on the jomsocial frontpage won't work! It Appears, but when clicked the facebook autho-token dialog box appears then disappears and then nothing happens. Weird thing is that the same button works on the standard joomla login page.

May I please have help on this issue?

Thanks,
Pete

Pete,
Sorry for the delayed response in getting back to this. To fix, please try disabling the "Show 'logging in' popup" in the JFBConnect Configuration area. We've detected some conflicts between how JomSocial loads the Bootstrap Javascript library and how Joomla does it which causes a problem with modal popups.

We are looking into the issue, but for now, disabling that setting should get you going.

Please let me know if that helps.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Yes That worked....Thank you for your help.

I also found that I'm having trouble with the content plug-in. When I l "like" and article and post it to FB it does not show the description of the article. Can you give me insight on the subject??

Thank you!
Pete

Pete,
The description from your article should be set using the Open Graph features of JFBConnect. Open Graph is how you describe your site to Facebook when used in wall posts and sets things like the title, description and image.

By enabling the Open Graph - Content plugin, that should automatically set 'good' tags for your content, but you can override those as well if necessary (I can explain more if you'd like).

Once you enable that plugin, you can use the Facebook URL debug tool to test what Facebook 'sees' on your page as well and could give you an idea of where things may be wrong.

I hope that helps, but if not, let me know.

Thanks,
Alex
