there you suggested me to copy activities.index.php file to template folder and edit code ...I just want to know is that same for joomla2.5............? because i have upgraded my joomla website to 2.5 from 1.5 but when i tried the same thing u mentioned i was unable to find the codes you had written on that post so that i can re write it to what u have said

Can you tell me what version of JomSocial you are using? The code in that file, and how you add the comment / like button would change for JomSocial 2.x vs 3.x.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to this. We just investigated this same question for JomSocial 3.0. I believe the code solution is going to be the same for v2.8, but please look and let us know if it works for you. The solution is in
