Just recently installed JFBConnect on a Joomla 2.5 / JomSocial 2.8.4.2 site. Had a couple observations hoping to get some feedback on ...

1) When I tested with my own FB account, it pulled a random status update as my JomSocial profile description. It wasn't the most recent status update so not sure why it decided to pull that one.

2) I was expecting a status update on FB saying that I had joined Tribal Surf with my app logo next to it.

Thanks.

Found the answer to this one in JFBConnect config Status / Wall where one can set this up ...

Per recent changes in Facebook's Application Policies, automatic wall posts on registration and login are no longer recommended.
To be in full compliance, the user must be aware a post will be made and be aware of the contents of the post beforehand.

JFBConnect should be pulling the last *status* update from your profile. Note that that that may not be the last thing in your Timeline, as a status update is a message that you've created and posted to Facebook.. not something that's been automatically put there.

If you things still seem wrong, can you try go using the Facebook Explorer tool, below:
developers.facebook.com/tools/explorer?m...T&path=me%2Fstatuses
Once there:
* Click the "Get Access Token" link in the top right and check the "user_status" box and hit "Ok".
* Accept the permissions box that popups up
* Hit "Submit"

There will be a list of statuses. See if the top one looks like your last status message you're expecting, or what's showing up in JFBConnect... or see if you can determine where the status update may be different.

We'll gladly help look into things further once we know if the status is there, just out of order, or something else.

Finally, for automatic posting on walls.. yeah, that's going away and that feature will be completely removed in the next release (next week). With Facebook's Open Graph Actions, they really don't want automatic status updates posted anymore.. there are specific rules on how that can be done (mainly, making sure the user sees and can edit any postings on their behalf). We are improving the Open Graph Actions functionality so that you can post more activity from your site back to the user's Timeline as well as letting the user intentionally post messages (with people and place tags).

I hope that all explains, but if you have any questions, just let us know.

Thanks,
Alex
