Hi we have the following setup:

Required Extensions Installed Available Status
JFBConnect 5.0.1 5.0.1
SCLogin 3.0.3 3.0.3
Authentication Plugin 5.0.1 5.0.1
System Plugin 5.0.1 5.0.1
User Plugin 5.0.1 5.0.1
Content Plugin 5.0.1 5.0.1
Community Builder 5.0.1 5.0.1
Kunena 5.0.1 5.0.1
Virtuemart2 5.0.1 5.0.1

When I try to log in via facebook connect the following issues occur:

-A error pops up JFTP: :store: Bad response (goes away when we disable ftp, but that's not a solution as we can't update things via the joomla tools without it)
-Profiles are created in all 3 subsystems however no avatar images are pulled from facebook?

You can try it yourself at the following link goo.gl/Jzxzb

Autotune runs find the only red is the canvas but from what I understand we don't need that to have users sign in.

In community builder >images I receive the following errors:

mageMagick Not installed
NetPBM Not installed
GD1 library Not installed
GD2 library Not installed

I'm not sure if its related.

Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

Thank you!

-Andrew

Andrew,
If you're seeing the FTP::bad response message, it means that you have the FTP layer enabled in Joomla, but it's not setup properly or able to write to the file directories we need it to to store the avatars. You'll need to check your directory permissions on the avatar directories for the profile systems you are importing into to make sure they are compatible with uploads using the FTP user you have configured in Joomla.

When you disable FTP, are the avatars properly written? If so, that reinforces what I mention above.

I hope that helps get you started, but if not, let me know.

Thanks,
Alex

Thank you for the quick response Alex,

Someone else installed joomla on our site and its always been a little wonkey. We couldn't install stuff without having ftp turned on. Also we were not able to write to the config or do much of anything else.

I am in the process of reapplying this docs.joomla.org/How_do_you_recursively_a...ctory_permissions%3F

And waiting for our super admin to shell in and do the chown apache:apache cache

I will give this a shot and let you know if I have any problems.

Sounds good. I think the permissions on specific subdirectories is your problem, and hopefully that will fix you right up. Keep us posted on what you find.

Thanks,
Alex
