FB Request was created by mikgran
I am wondering if there is any other way of implementing FB Requests without having a FBpage and canvas setup.
Having canvas needs an SSL and for my host I need a dedicated IP to be able to have SSL.
All these arent justifiable expenses given what I need the requests for
I have seen other extensions implement this without all these requirements, but am just not sure if they will work well with JFBConnect
Please advice

Yes, there have been some changes in Facebook recently that we'll be implementing in the next big release of JFBConnect that will allow you to easily configure Requests without using SSL. You can do so now by taking the following steps:
* Go to the App Developer Area and hitting the 'x' in the top right of the Facebook Canvas section. Save those changes.
* When you setup a Request, do not enable the "Breakout Canvas" setting.

That should let the request work without SSL, but test and let us know if you run into issues. The next release will update Autotune to check if you have SSL installed and not configure your Canvas/Page Tab areas if you don't. It will also have some updates to the Request configuration area to not expect SSL as the Canvas isn't required for Requests anymore.

I hope that helps,
Alex

In my App Developer area, I cant see a Facebook canvas section,
but I can see App on Facebook section that has several fields starting with canvas e.g "canvas page" "canvas url" etc
Are they the same?

Sorry for the confusion. Yes, that's the correct area. Hit the 'x' in the top right of that section to disable the "App on Facebook" settings and hit Save Settings. Then, the Requests should go to your live site instead of the Canvas area first.

I hope that helps,
Alex
