This is something we're looking to add over the next month or so. The actual awarding of points is quite simple, it's a matter of adding a few lines of code, which we could help you with. The bigger issue is creating the correct XML file to allow points to be created for the event you mention. If you're interested in doing that step, the documentation on JomSocial's site will help you get started:

In general, once you make the points available to be used in JomSocial, we can help you add the code to trigger them very easily. With JomSocial 3.0 on the horizon, we're planning a lot more integration, and point integration as well as more activity stream input is high up there for what's next.
