SCLogin was created by fb_721883146
Hi, Ive recently downloaded the the jfbconnect 5.0.0 pack and it seems like the SCLogin 3.0 module was not included in the zip file. Was i meant to download it from another section?

And the thing is my subscription ended a day or two ago so i can not re-download it to check the jfbconnect zip file. I do have every intention of subscribing again, but i'm waiting for jomsocial 3.0 to come out first.

My question is:
Should the SCLogin 3.0 been in with the jfbconnect zip package or is it a separate download? And is i possible that i could download the SCLogin 3.0 as i think it was released before my subscription ended. Now worries if it's not possible:)

Many thanks Neil.

Neil,
The new SCLogin module hasn't been packaged with JFBConnect yet. It will be with the 5.0.1 release that we're hoping will be out next week. That release is a bug-fix roll-up release in preparation for the major 5.1 release coming (hopefully) in July.

The new SCLogin module can be downloaded directly from our site from Joomla Enhanced Login Module .

I hope that helps,
Alex

Thanks for that Alex, I had no idea that it was non-commercial, thats brill. You say that you have a major update coming out next week. Is this the one that coincides with jomsocial 3.0 release?? :D Just a thought!

Ok i've installed and enabled the sclogin module but i'm just struggling to position it in the correct place. I am using the jf chrome template but dont like there login module at all, but when i did use it, it positioned it's self to the right of my header. The sclogin doesn't want to position it's self in the same place for some reason.

Any idea why it's not in the same position?

My site address is www.wingchun-kungfu.co.uk/jupdate

Thanks Neil

Sorry for the delay in getting back to this. The release next week is a minor release, v5.0.1. There's a ton of bug-fixes and minor little things throughout. The major release should be out late next month. While working on it, we realized we had more than enough fixes to get a release out now.

As for JomSocial v3.0, if you aren't already beta testing it, we recommend you signup: beta.jomsocial.com There's a setting in their Facebook Connect area to use JFBConnect, which will automatically replace their login buttons with ours. We're planning a big overhaul to our profile and open graph plugins for JomSocial to add a lot of new features since they'll be promoting our usage a bit more as well. Good things to come.

For your login positioning question, I just took a look at your page and it's a little different than your image. I still see the SCLogin module on the left, but it's in modal mode now. To move it to the right, you can float the whole module right, but that doesn't bring it 'up' at all. Can you enable the 'other' login module that you like it's position. With it enabled, we can hopefully see where it is and why, and then help you do the same with the SCLogin module.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi alex,
That's ok, no problem with the delay, I can only imagine how busy you get with a quality extension like yours:) And thanks for the info about the jomsocial 3.0 beta testing, I'll be signing up for that.

Yes sorry about changing the layout after posting the screen dump. It just looked a bit big in the header position, so i changed to the modal mode. Yes i had a play about and could only get it to float right and not go any higher. I have re-enabled the other login module that was designed to sit in that position, it looks like it's using some different code!

Correct module possition

Incorrect module position
www.wingchun-kungfu.co.uk/jupdate

I think the other login module is using a class called formlogin, but i dont see that class in the html from the page with the SCLogin.

Also i seem to have another problem! Nothing is happening when i click the login button on the SCLogin. I've tried it in chrome, firefox and IE, all have the same affect. What could be causing this?

Hope i've give you enough info and thanks for the help:)

Neil

P.S Looking forward to the future releases of JFBConnect. Excited!

Neil,
You nailed it! Good sleuthing on the differences between the two login modules. If you go into the SCLogin module and into the "Advanced Options" area. In the "Module Class Suffix" box, enter " formlogin" (no quotes, but make sure there is a leading space there). That, for me, makes the module appear exactly where I think you want it.

As for why the modal popup isn't working, it's because your including a lot of JQuery libraries, and some are incompatible with others.
* The template is including v1.5.2 which is very old
* K2 is including v1.8
* Our SCLogin module is including v1.9.1

1.9.1 and 1.8 are completely compatible I believe. However, your template is using some jQuery browser detection in the following file:
www.wingchun-kungfu.co.uk/jupdate/templa...mforest-jf-chrome.js
That browser detection logic has been removed from later versions of jQuery (1.8+) and, because of that, the following error is being thrown:

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'msie' of undefined

That error is preventing further Javascript from executing, including our modal popup.

You can try disabling the jQuery inclusion options in the SCLogin module and K2 parameters. That may work, but may cause other issues. Otherwise, you'll need to investigate how to fix that joomforest-jf-chrome.js file to not use the old JQuery calls that don't exist any more.

I hope that helps you narrow things down, but if you need anything else from us, just let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi alex,

Thanks for your help with my situation, But it seems like the jquery libraries for my template are to old even to migrate them. I have contacted the template developer and it seems that they have a update coming out for their template to work with jomsocial 3.0. Yippee :)
So it just the case of waiting till jomsocial get their extension out then wait for the template release from my template devs.

Thanks for all the help alex, Much appreciated.
