Good day,

I get the following error when I try to Upgrade via Joomla Admin :
Downloading the update package failed. Make sure that your temp-directory is writable, that you have enabled Joomla!'s FTP options in your site's Global Configuration, and that you are using a valid SourceCoast Subscription Key.

1) My temp dir is writable
2) FTP is correct in the configuration.php file
3) I renewed my subscription 2 days ago so the key should be correct

What is the correct procedure to Upgrade please ?

Are you using the Joomla Update manager, or the update tool built-in to JFBConnect?

Either way, if the automatic update process isn't work, I'd suggest downloading the main zip package from the My Downloads area in the top right user menu. Once you have that, install it using the Joomla installer like any other extension and that should upgrade your main component automatically.

You'll also want to update any modules or plugins you are using to make sure they are at v5.0 as well. You can check all your version numbers from the JFBConnect Admin Overview page.

I hope that helps, but if you still have issues, just let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Yes, re-installing over the top of what you have is just fine. You don't need to uninstall first either (though that shouldn't hurt). The automatic update built-in to JFBConnect does the exact same thing, it just downloads the file automatically for you. Once downloaded, we use the Joomla install manager to actually perform the installation.

In other words, there's no difference from using our automatic updater vs using the Joomla install manager.

In both cases, after you update the component, make sure you also update any modules or plugins you're using as well though.

I hope that helps,
Alex
