Hi Alex, I want to add some custom open graph actions. Is there a documentation guide to do this job? Here are what I want to add:
1) I installed a vote plugin which named extract vote , and want to add this vote action to open graph.
2) add Jreviews "add to my favorites" action to open graph
3) add Jreviews helpful vote action to open graph
How long do you think these would take to finish adding? And could you provide the code?
Thank you very much!

Bettychung,
Most of those would likely need a custom Open Graph plugin created for them (or, for JReviews, an update to the existing one). For JReviews, we're planning a big update (ideally in June) which will add a lot of new action types, including the ones you mention.

If you are, or have, a developer, we can gladly give some pointers on what would need to be done. Basically, our best examples are our existing Open Graph plugins. The "Custom" and "Content" plugins have good comments throughout. The JReviews plugin is also already ready, it just needs to support new actions. So, a developer should hopefully be able to understand what's going on and add to it.

Unfortunately though, while we do have support for 'Custom' actions, those are actions where you've created a custom button ("I cooked this") that a user can click. It wouldn't necessarily interact with an existing extension, it would just post your own custom action back to Facebook.

I hope that helps explain, but if not, let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex, thank you for reply.
It is very glad to hear that your team make more improvement on Jreviews. And also exited to know that it will be updated in June! In that case I don't need to worry about Jreviews actions, just waiting for the updates.
So I might still need to focus on the Extract vote action. Indeed, I have a developer to work on this. So could you please provide the pointers?
Thanks!

Glad I could help answer. We love the JReviews extension and want to work a lot more closely with them on some integration. There's always a lot we want to do, it's finding the time and prioritizing things that are the issue. Again, June is the 'ideal' timeframe, but I can't guarantee it will be in June, just to be clear.

For pointers, again, the best thing would be to look at the custom action or content plugin and see if there are any questions. They are commented pretty well and try to explain what each function does. We want to add a developer document on how to create custom Open Graph plugins, but haven't been able to do that yet. Without knowing the Vote plugin you're using, I can't give specific guidance. If your developer has any questions though, just let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks for pointing that out. We will be updating the guides later this month to be in line with some recent updates to Facebook's interface. We'll also be releasing JFBConnect v5.1 within about a month which will have some Open Graph improvements as well.

As to your image above, when you go to Open Graph -> Stories in your App, you should see a page when any Actions/Objects you've created. There's a Get Code link next to those that brings up a window like below:
File Attachment:

In that image, the action is "join", which you can see in the first line for graph.facebook.com/me/joomla-to-facebook:join

I hope that helps, but if you're still having issues, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex
