Go to the Configuration -> Misc tab in JFBConnect. Enable the only "Experimental" setting that's like "Strip tags from Header" or something like that. It should remove those tags from the header. You should be able to see the change in the HTML immediately, but it can take Facebook a day or so to see the update.

Thanks,
Alex

I'm not sure then, in all honesty. We've never seen that setting not fix the problem. The og:description is by itself and not with the rest of JFBConnect's Open Graph tags. That means something else is inserting it.

* Do you know what else is inserting that tag?
* Can you disable the setting I mentioned above and see if the og:description tag in the HTML changes? I don't think it will get any better, but if it changes at all, that will tell us something.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alzander,

I had to disable the G+ share btn since the tag was still showing up. Not really intended do that.
Now the FB share btn does the same for all articles.

I think the issue is 2 sides.

1- the meta tag from JFBC is not being set correctly --> <meta property="og:description" content="{JFBCLike layout..." />
www.fruzitime.com/news/battle-of-drums-z...n-van-rotterdam.html

2. When sharing it adds this code also at the description/

I use sh404sef also but limited meta tag features.

PS been using both long time now.

So how can I FIX the fact that the code is being outputted like that.

Ahh.. Sh404SEF is a good clue. First off, that og:description tag is *not* coming from JFBConnect. Again, you'll need to determine what is inserting those Open Graph tags as only one extension should be doing it. My guess is that it's sh404SEF itself. You can check by going into the sh404SEF configuration -> Social SEO -> Social Networking area and disabling the "Enable on All Pages" setting. That should let JFBConnect set the og tags, which is more flexible and generally better.

Finally, if that doesn't help, can you make sure that the sh404SEF - System plugin is ordered *before* (lower number) than the JFBCSystem plugin? That will help ensure that our "Strip Head Tags" setting will see the 'final' description tag.

Keep us posted, and good luck,
Alex

Hi Alzander,

Realy having a hard time on this issue.

I have moved the sh404SEF plugin to an earlier position (#45) and JFBC to LAST.
Still I see <meta property="og:description" content="{JFBCLike l..." />
So 'something' else is doing this but I don't have anymore extension doing something with SEO tags etc.

Also you stated: That should let JFBConnect set the og tags, which is more flexible and generally better.
What do you mean with that? Because with SH404SEF I am able to add the description per page etc something that is realy good for Google.
But let's say I don't use SH404sef anymore for ding this what does JFBC do with og:title. og:descr etc?

PS I know this happens when users like me have 2 similar plugins :(

hope you can shine a light on this issue.

Rodster,
With sh404SEF you can still set the title and description per page. Those are the 'meta' tags, *not* the Open Graph tags. Their Open Graph integration will simply set the og tags to the same value you set the meta title/description tags too. JFBConnect will also do this, but if you use our Open Graph plugins or the {SCOpenGraph title=xyz} tags, you can specifically set the tags on a per-page basis. So, our system is more flexible, but will default to using the standard title/description tags for the page as well if no other 'better' og tags are found.

I'd suggest disabling their Open Graph integration, while still using their SEO features to set the title/description tags as that should do what you're looking for. If not, let us know.

Thanks,
Alex
