Topic-icon Enhanced SCLogin causing Rockettheme template to fail?

Website at www.forthenrygymnastics.ca was working fine. Joomla 2.5, JFBC 4.2, K2
I had been using SCLogin and noticed a new update (my subscription had run out but this one was free!) I installed it and my site started left justifying all modules in the template, overlapping many so the site was unuseable. Clicking through some pages would seem to restore a page somewhat yet at the top would be a twitter icon and the following text "
{SCGooglePlusOne href=http://www.forthenrygymnastics...." />" indicating some kind of parsing error I expect. I don't know enough to troubleshoot whether it is competing java from the new SCLogin and the K2 facebook integration (I had turned K2 integration off to rely on the JFBC with no problems for months before)

Cleared browser and server-side caches (caching disabled)

To attempt to fix, I tried to reinstall the Enhanced SCLogin for 2.5...nothing
Renewed my subscription to gain access to JFBC 5.0 for 2.5. Installed. did not correct the error
Renewed my subscriptions to RocketThemes and downloaded updated Ionosphere template and installed. Nothing. Installed Responsive version. Still nothing.

Any ideas? (no I did not make a backup immediately prior to all of this...what was I thinking?)

Thanks in advance!

Try going into the Configuration -> Misc section of JFBConnect. There's a setting in there that's like "Strip tags from header". Enable that and see if the {SC... } tags are removed. If that's being placed in the header, it could definitely screw up formatting.

If that doesn't work, try disabling the JFBCContent plugin altogether and test again. And if that doesn't work, post or Private Message us a link to a page where we can see the problem.

Thanks,
Alex

That experimental "strip tags" function did the trick! Active subscription paid for itself within 24 hours!

Awesome! Glad to hear that helped. That 'experimental' setting was introduced in v4.3.4 and in v5.0.0 it was defaulted to 'enabled'. In the next release it will be removed altogether, so it's good to have feedback that it resolved your problem.

As always though, should you need anything else, just let us know.

Thanks,
Alex
