I have put the tag with the content modifications into the JFBCFriends, but it's not showing up like I think it should. What am I doing wrong?

{JFBCFriends href=http://www.liddlebuddie.com max_rows=5 width=169 colorscheme=dark size=small show_count=true action=vote,comment}

Thanks,
Miles

What are the "content modifications" you made? Can you let me know what's appearing? Are you seeing the raw tag {JFBCFriends ...} or something else?

The only other thing I can see that may be a problem is the "action" tag. Try just using one action, for now, and see if that helps. If so, let us know as there may be an issue with the comma which we should be able to fix easily.

Thanks,
Alex

I changed the line to the following by removing the action tag:

{JFBCFriends href=http://www.liddlebuddie.com max_rows=5 width=400 colorscheme=dark size=small show_count=true }

All that's showing up is the "FB icon, 26 people like this". I have placed this code in two places, on the left margin and at the bottom of an article on the homepage of www.liddlebuddie.com

What I was expecting after signing in was a matrix of pictures of my "FB Friends". Do I have the wrong expectations from this plugin? In reading the parameters which show "Line count", "size", "max_row" and "width", I was assuming that the matrix of photos would show up.

Also, how do you put in a "logout" from FB in the code?

Thanks,
Miles

Yes, your understanding of the FB Friends module was incorrect. That page will show your friends that have performed the actions you specify, or, if no actions have been specified, the number of users that have authenticated your FB Application/website. It will *not* show all of the user's friends. It's more of a "What have my friends done on this site" type module so that user's can see what has interested their friends on the site.

As for the logout button, you can add the following tag anywhere on your page:
{JFBCLogin logout=true}
With that, if a user is logged into your Joomla site, a "Logout" button will be displayed. When clicked, the user will be logged out of Joomla. If you have the "Logout of Joomla Only" option disabled (off), then it will also log them out of Facebook.

I hope that helps explain,
Alex

Logout worked. Thank you.

Is there anyway to display Friends with pictures like you used to be able to in V.4.0?

Thanks,
Miles

Miles,
For showing friends with pictures, are you talking about with the Login module? Unfortunately not. There's (what we consider) a bug with Facebook's Javascript Login button where. When the faces are enabled in that module, if the user has already authenticated (logged in using your app) *ever*, the n the Login with Facebook button itself won't show when that user returns to your site. It makes the button not work for many users in that way since it won't show to the users that have already logged in to your site previously, but are returning to use your site again.

Hope that makes sense. We had so many bug reports about the Show Faces feature because of the missing Login button, that we just decided to remove the option.

Another reason we removed that was because of our revised SCLogin module, in beta now, which is completely overhauled on looks. The Javascript button is not the primary button that we'll be recommending going forward. If you'd like to read more about the new SCLogin module, or test it out, read:
www.sourcecoast.com/blog/extensions/enha...for-joomla-31-and-25

Hope that helps,
Alex

Thanks for the response on the Friends component. I know that it was a problem in v4.0 so it doesn't surprise me that you disabled it.

Miles

Yup, sorry for the inconvenience on that setting. It was a good feature from Facebook, but when it causes other problems, it's just not worth it.

As always, should you need anything else, just let me know!

Thanks,
Alex
