Hi there, hope you can help.

I've set a joomla custom html module to display in the right position with a custom tag in it to display a like button.

All good except two things, I would like to try the show faces feature, but it won't display. The code is show_faces=1 , and I tried with true as well. No luck.

The other is the 'send' feature that adds a send button. The button displays, but when clicked the panel comes up off to the right and almost off screen (see screenshot). Anyway to control this, to send it off to the left?? Also, it adds all of the text from the about section of the page. Could this be removed or limited?

Thanks in advance!

Not sure why the show faces option wouldn't work. We'd need to see the output HTML to understand where things may be going wrong (either in JFBConnect or Facebook just not respecting our setting of 'show faces').

As for the Send button area being cutoff, that's usually very easily fixable with a minor CSS tweak.

If you can post (or Private Message) the URL for the page where you're having these issues, we should be able to help you investigate both pretty quickly.

Thanks,
Alex

Kiwi,
Thanks for the link. As to your questions:
1) The "Show Faces" option only works in the "Standard" layout mode. In the box or button count views, it will not display faces. That's simply how Facebook works, and not something we can get around.

2) The send button dialog opened to the left for me. I opened it in a browser window that would have been too small for it to open to the right, and Facebook automatically opened it to the left. I then made the browser much, much wider (so there was a lot of white-space on the right of your page), reloaded the page (important for Facebook to recalculate the width of your window, and when I clicked again, it properly opened to the right.

I've attached a picture of it opening to the left. Can you tell me what you're seeing that's different, and what browser you're using to test? We used Chrome.

Hope that helps,

Thanks for the quick reply.

Okay, the orientation seems to be working for me too now, across IE, FF and Chrome. Although it failed once with a right orientation which was partialy off screen. What do you think? Is there anything I can add to force it to position to the left?

And for the 'Show faces' feature, yes it's for the standard layout only. That's okay, but two more problems. It only shows my friends who have liked it. Anyway to show non-friends who have liked it?? Seems more social.

Importantly though, the format breaks . See the screenshots for logged in and out. What do you think?

There's no way to force the way it opens. The browser viewable area is detected by Facebook and they choose which way to open.

The Show Faces option will only always show your friends that have Like'd the page. It's meant to be a social queue that the user's friends Like the content. There's no option (that we can set) to show faces of every user that has Like'd the page. That's just not available to us.

Finally, if you change the 'width' parameter in the JFBCLike module, that should force it to wrap better than it is.

Hope that helps,
Alex
