For the extra tag at the top, go into the Configuration -> Misc area of JFBConnect and enable the "Strip Easy-Tags from Header:" setting. That should remove that extra code that can get pulled into your meta description tag by some extensions.

The Login button isn't working because you have 2 other extensions that are also including the Facebook Javascript library file on your page. One looks to be from your template. The other, I really can't tell what's including it, but it's likely from a plugin on your system. You'll need to find the source that's loading the FB Javascript library file (all.js) and disable them. Then, JFBConnect will be able to properly initialize the Facebook framework and communicate with Facebook for the login functionality to work.

You can use the Error Checker built-in to JFBConnect which should be calling out the fact that other extensions are initializing the Javascript library as well. Once that passes, things should work normally.

Hope that helps,
Alex

Hi Alex
Thanks fore your answers.
I have now done as suggested for both issues. I found the module that caused the problem and get not errors in errorcheck.
The broken code is stil in the top.
Regarding fb-login - in chrome a window pops up and disappear again. In Explorer you now get the Facebook-login, but you are not really logged in. When You are logged in you can see it ind the bottom right of the page.

Kim,
I just tried to login, and I get a popup that says "An error has occurred. Please try again." In the Javascript console, the following is displayed:

Given URL is not allowed by the Application configuration.: One or more of the given URLs is not allowed by the App's settings. It must match the Website URL or Canvas URL, or the domain must be a subdomain of one of the App's domains.

That means that the Application isn't configured correctly. Can you go into JFBConnect's Autotune and in the FB App section hit "Refresh". Then, make sure all the settings, especially the Site URLs, are correct.

If that doesn't help, in the Facebook Developer area, make sure that your app was not put in "Sandbox Mode". Let us know if those help.

As for the tag in the top, can you clear your Joomla cache to see if that helps? We've never heard of that setting *not* fixing the issue, so aren't sure what wouldn't be happening unless your cache is causing issues.

Thanks,
Alex

Kim,
Glad login functionality is working. The code issue at the top is a combination of JFBConnect and other extensions. We insert those tags, and then other extensions use those tags accidentally in the meta description for the page, which is wrong. Our setting should prevent that though.

Not sure why the setting isn't working though. Would it be possible to provide us with a super admin account for your site so we can check your configuration? If not, we can keep providing suggestions, but it will be slower than us checking ourselves. If so, you can Private Message me the credentials by clicking the arrow under my avatar (<
) and hitting the mail icon.

Thanks,
Alex

Kim,
Thanks for the admin credentials. I'm honestly not sure why the tags were showing at the top of the page. That setting should have removed that. Looking at your configuration, I realized that you had a K2 article set for the home page, but the little article text you had wasn't even displaying (not sure why that was.

Either way, I went into the Social configuration area of JFBConnect and in the K2 - Like tab, I added article 723 (your home page article) to the exclusion list. That way, the social buttons don't display for that specific article. That removed the buttons from the top of the page and everything seems right now.

Please test and let me know how that goes. Hopefully, that fixes you right up.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex
Thats great - it looks nice.
I had to make the solution with the article shown without the text, because the template demanded something to be shown in the main-area, otherwise the articles would not be exposed.
Thank you very much.
I will now start working with the other parts of JFB-connect.
Best regards Kim

Kim,
Very glad to hear that solution worked for you. The home page menu item can always be a bit confusing because many templates require *something* on the home page to be displayed from the component. We know you're pain :)

As always, should you run into anything else, or need other help, just let us know.

Thanks,
Alex
