I've installed and enabled the plugin in plugin manager.
However JFBConnect control panel does not recognise it.

The plugin you installed and enabled is for the v4.x version of JFBConnect. In v5.0+, we changed the plugins to "Social Profiles - JomSocial". You'll need to install the new plugin in the download package. All of your old settings should have been transferred, but you should verify them in the Profiles area of JFBConnect.

The new Social Profile plugins are compatible with our LinkedIn extension as well and use a newer code base that's very different from the JFBCProfile plugins.
