Hi,
I believe that I have installed VirtueMart2 correctly, but on the JFBConnect Configuration page it says, "Not installed". I am working through the JFBConnect setup. If you could help I would be grateful.
Thanks.

Adam,
That message isn't indicating that Virtuemart itself isn't installed. The notice about Virtuemart2 being "Not Installed" is just for our Social Profile plugin that allows you to import Facebook information into Virtuemart2. You can find that plugin in the "Profiles" folder of the main zip you downloaded for JFBConnect.

Once installed, if you go to the "Profiles" configuration area of JFBConnect, you'll be able to configure how user profile information is imported into VM2.

Hope that explains,
Alex

I have already followed steps 1-3 of the configuration guide (page 8) for JFBConnect. This includes installing the socialprofile plugin for VM2. The challenge is step 4 as on the Overview Tab nothing appears, neither does it under the profiles tab.

The same for Kunena ... so I must be doing something wrong; although the JomSocial - FBWall worked straight away.

It sounds like you have JomSocial installed as well. Did you install the JomSocial social profile plugin? Did that work as expected?

Beyond that, I'm not sure what would be happening. My only guess is to verify that you enabled/published the plugin.. but I'm pretty sure you've quintuple checked that by now :)

Would it be possible for you to Private Message us admin details about your site so we can see and debug the issue more closely. I think we must be missing something too, but I can't tell what from your description. You can PM me by clicking the arrow under my name (<
) and hitting the mail icon.

Thanks,
Alex

I didn't install JomSocial. I just installed the JomSocial - FB Wall integration plugin to see if it showed up in the JFBConnect > Overview area - and it did. Neither VM2 nor Kunena show up there. Neither do they show up in the JFBConnect > Profiles section. However, I went into the VM2 user area as well as the Kunena user area and both of the users which are in the UserMap section seem to have been imported into VM2 and Kunena. But it doesn't show; nor can I access the JFBConnect > Profiles area for the options.

I will PM you. Thanks.

Adam,
Very sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this. I just got into the site. The problem was that you were installing (or had installed) the older JFBCProfile plugins. The newest version of JFBConnect, v5.0.0, moved to a new "Social Profile" plugin system. These plugins are also compatible with JLinked, making for easier development as well as more functionality for both our social networking extensions.

I went ahead and installed the new socialprofile - VM2 plugin on your site and it seems to be properly working. If you need other profile plugins, please make sure you install the 5.0.0 version from the zip file you get on this site.

Hope that helps, and good luck,
Alex

Adam,
No problem, and sorry for the confusion with the new profile plugins. They're a big step up from the individual plugins we had for JFBConnect and JLinked, but we probably could have communicated the change better.

As always, should you need anything else, just let us know.

Finally, if you haven't already, please consider leaving a rating and review for JFBConnect, or our support, on the Joomla Extension Directory. It certainly isn't required, but is very appreciated:

Thanks,
Alex
