I've installed a fresh Joomla 2.5 install from a RocketLauncher package from RocketTheme. So this is a full Joomla install with one of their templates.

I installed Kunena, K2, EasyDiscuss and the Facebook Connect components, configured everything, created my App on Facebook, ran the AutuTune, have green across the board. Turned on registration-enabled in Joomla, and... nothing.

No Log-in with Facebook button, no comment frames, no like buttons.

Yet looking at my source, I see the iframe for the comments, and I'm pretty sure I had everything configured right.

I have to be missing something.

www.ModelSafety.org is the site - you can see the comment block showing up on the front page source (normally I wouldn't have comments on the front page, but I'm just trying anything to get things to show up). No log in with facebook button on either the main login module at the top or the SCLogin on the right sidebar.

What did I forget to do? :-)

Further, the iframe output on the login button simply has the word "false" in it. No clue where this is coming from...

Christopher,
I'm seeing the Login with Facebook button just fine in the sidebar. Clicking on it properly brings up the authentication popup, but I didn't follow through.

Can you test being while being logged into Facebook.com.. how about not being logged into Facebook.com. Also, let me know what browser you're using... and try clearing both the Joomla and your browser caches and test again.

Let me know.

Thanks,
Alex

Cache fully cleared.

When logged in to Facebook, no facebook frames are showing. Same when logged out of Facebook.

I'm using the absolute latest Firefox.

Sure enough, when using the latest IE, I see them fine.

Working for me in Firefox as well.

Usually when that happens it's because there's an add-on for Firefox installed that's intentionally blocking social networking features. Check your Firefox add-ons and see if there are any add-ons that might be blocking social networking functionality.

Bingo!

Apparently Ghostery now thinks that these social links are bad. I whitelisted my own site, and it's all good.

One more thing to add to my deployment checklist ;)

Glad we figured it out. Obviously, you're not the first to intentionally block social networking stuff... and then blame JFBConnect :) At least you admitted it.. we've had.. heated.. discussions before when trying to debug this type of issue.

As always, if you need anything else, just let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Anyone who blocks and then doesn't see what's going on is... well... in denial ;)
My issue was just that in the past, Ghostery didn't block any of this, so I didn't think to check and see if that was the issue. Apparently they do, now. Fair enough, now I know!

Yeah.. when things don't work as expected, it's easier for many people to look outward than inward :)

Glad it's all going now though. As always, let us know if you need anything else.

Thanks,
Alex
