Hi Alzander.

Everything is working great with JFBconnect. Thank you.

A new user who has a background tech & defense and said this: " Email is very insecure and should only be used for temporary password resets. Sorry to be so strict on passwords but I came up through the tech/ defense industry where this is a no no. Plus I've had my email hacked and would like to keep any account information secure."

Is there a way to set up JFBconnect so the credentials are not sent through email?
Thanks.

No arguments there. We copied the default method that Joomla uses to send it's new users email. It's very easy to change that behavior though. You'll want to edit the /language/en_GB/en_GB.com_jfbconnect.ini file. Once there, modify the following line:

COM_JFBCONNECT_EMAIL_REGISTERED_BODY="Hello %s,\n\nThank you for registering at %s.\n\nYou may now log in to %s using your Facebook credentials or the following username and password:\n\nUsername: %s\nPassword: %s"

You can remove the last section and change the complete verbiage however works best for your site and your users.

Hope that helps,
Alex

Hi Alex,

I updated changed all options eliminate the username & password in the suggested ini file.
When someone logs in (without facebook), it still seems to email the new account the username & password. I checked SClogin, and it's not in that ini file.
Would you happen to know where I need to make this change?
Thanks in advance.

Open the en_GB.com_users.ini file and find the string you're looking for. Then, edit it how you want.

Thanks,
Alex
