Hmm.. Not sure why you're seeing that message, it's something we'll have to look into. The message is simply a notice from PHP that weren't not strictly following PHP conventions with one of our calls. It's not something that should change or prevent functionality or in any way break things, just something for us developers to be aware of.
What you can try is going to your Global Configuration area of Joomla and switching the Error Reporting setting to anything *but* development. For a production site, "None" is the right choice. If you're still setting things up, Maximum is good to see problems. Development should really be used by developers only.
