I was reading the HikaShop forums regarding the use of JFB Connect and they recommend using it but I had a question based on a forum post I found. They were using JFB Connect 4.2.5 with Joomla 2.5. It said "that with JFBConnect, it adds the option on the login page as well as the registration form. If you click the Facebook login that it lets you do this and then flips you to their page where it asks you to register with the site. I checked the user accounts and it did record the new account in Joomla from logging in with Facebook, which is good. The problem is that it's confusing from the user side because it still asks for you to register or login before checking out. Am I missing something or a setting? If they use the Facebook connect, it should only ask for the remaining account information such as address, etc. since their account is created by using the Facebook connect. Let me know your thoughts on this". From there, they responded "Maybe there is an option in JFBConnect to automatically login after the account has been created. That should be handled by JFBConnect as it's something on their end, like HikaShop does the auto login after registration when you use HikaShop's registration. "

So, my question is if JFBConnect has a setting that will fix this or not. I'm interest in adding this feature to our site, but I wanted to confirm this first. Thanks so much.

Hugs,

Natalie.

Natalie,
First off, I'm going to move this topic to the JFBConnect 2.5 forums after I post this (instead of the JLinked forums), so please look for it there.

As to your question, JFBConnect has many settings for automatically logging the user in or not after registration. If you have Joomla activation enabled, for instance, JFBConnect allows you to skip that. If you don't, the user will not be logged in automatically, since they need to activate first. If you choose to skip it, they should be logged in immediately. Similarly, there are multiple registration settings for automatically creating the user (no forms) or letting the user pick their username/password, etc.

We've heard from quite a few users that are using Hikashop and JFBConnect. To our knowledge, the two work fine together, but it's not something we directly test.

As always, we have a 30-day money back guarantee and provide excellent support. Should you run into issues, we'll help how we can and if you are satisfied, no worries :)

Hope that helps explain, and best of luck,
Alex
