I've installed JFBConnect on two of my sites, the first one works just fine, the second one, on the same host server works but JFBConnect does not show up in the admin menu. If I type the proper location in the address bar, I can get to the configuration and everything works. Other components I installed earlier show up fine but the odd thing is; now if I install a new component (Akeeba Backup for example) it also does not show up and, even if I update a component that previously was in the menu, it disappears.
I thought this may be an issue with Joomla and posted it on their forum but it has been four days without an answer so I turn to you. I generally find a lot of problems with standard Joomla menus after a migration but usually can fix it in phpMyadmin but I can't see the solution here. I found another person who had a similar problem to mine on your forum (pvh on May 29, 2012) but in my case, it's not just the sub-menu items that don't show, the component does not show up at all and I did not re-install Joomla as he did. I did try uninstalling and re-installing JFBConnect as suggested but to no avail. I did not get an error message the first time I installed JFBConnect but on the re-install I got the "Error building Admin Menus" error message.
My test web site is at www.vibrations.ca/SPupgrade. I am ready to install more components but hesitate because of this menu issue. If you wish, I can send you the forum Post Assistant info that I used in my as yet unanswered Joomla forum post.

This isn't really an issue with JFBConnect. It's a common issue with sites that have been migrated to Joomla 2.5. To our knowledge, the problem is with the assets table and it's that the wrong values are stored in there. I'm not sure how this happens or the best way to fix it, but there's a lot of information if you search Google for "Fix Joomla assets table".

Sorry I can't really help more. I genuinely don't think JFBConnect is the cause, and really hope the above information helps you get started on figuring out the solution.

Thanks,
Alex
