Hi,

I need some help please... I tried your recomandations about open graph but I don't manage to do what I want :-(
I'm not a friendly user of facebook api and open graph... :-/

I just would like to post a message on the wall of a new user which subscribed to my website by the jfb connect.
Just tell something like " This user registerd on this website"
I hoped that the option "New User Status Settings" in the configuration ( statuts/wall) of jfb connect would to that but not...

Is there a (simple?) solution to do that ( and only that... I don't want to publish on the facebook wall of my users, witch articles they read or witch pictures they post...) ?

Thanks to your answers... It's the only one thing missing to make my website ok...
Sorry for my english ;-)

Sophie,
The Configuration -> Status / Wall tab should do exactly what you're looking for. If you filled out a message and URL, it should just work. Sometimes, if the image doesn't load properly or is too small, Facebook won't post the message. So, I'd try without an image initially to see if that works.

Also, the URL needs to be a full URL (www.yoursite.com/) and needs to be a page from your actual website... you can't use a URL from a completely different website.

Hope that helps, but if not, let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Oh, and when the user initially clicks the "Login With Facebook" button, there should be an extra popup to ask if the application is able to post on the user's behalf. They will have to have approved that permission to be able to create that registration post.

Ok so I'm happy to know that jfb connect can do what I want, but I'm lost...

Everything you describe is ok ( url, no picture, the extra pop up of facebook that allow to post on the user wall), but it doesn't work : nothing publish on the wall :-(

Any (other) ideas? Thanks a lot again

Can you post, or Private Message, a URL of a page from your site with the Login with Facebook button so we can test and see what's happening there?

Thanks,
Alex

Very sorry for not getting back to you sooner.

I just registered on your site, and as you said, no post was made to my wall. More strangely is that back on the home page, the SCLogin module is showing the "Connecter ce site à votre réseau sociale?" text, which means JFBConnect doesn't think the user logged in through Facebook. That could be due to another authentication, user, or system plugin causing some sort of conflict during the registration process, but I'm not sure without more information or admin access.

I know you also mentioned that you are on v4.3.0 of JFBConnect. There have been multiple fixes in the updates to v4.3.4, but I none were directly related to this issue (we've never heard of this problem before). Upgrading JFBConnect is meant to be very, very simple by just installing it again and I'd definitely recommend that just to take that out of the equation. If you've modified any of our code directly, that will be removed, but all your settings and past user connections will remain.

Beyond that, the only thing that would help would be super admin access to your site to see if there's some configuration or conflicting extension we can find. If possible, please private message us a super admin account.

Thanks,
Alex

Sophie,
I have multiple Private Messages from you, but none have had super administrator credentials for your site. Can you please message those to me so that we can look into the issue? If you already sent them and I missed them, I apologize.

Thanks,
Alex
