Topic-icon Confusion with JFBCLike and appname link on facebook

I'm building a website and i use JFBConnect which is brilliant by the way. I have setup so far only what i need the SCLogin with FB, send button, JFBClike button, fb comments and all works fine except one confusion that i have.
When i fb comment on an article i get on facebook wall a new post saying:
"Kappadev commented on a link" ..etc. The "link" is active and sent me to my website when i click on it.
All good so far.

When i click the "like" button on an article i get on facebook wall a different message saying:
"Kappadev likes a link on myappname". If i click the appname link it tries to open my website in facebook canvas and of course it's all blank because from what i read i need a SSL and to setup the Page Tab/Canvas thingy. Correct me if I'm wrong please so far.
I don't want SSL, canvas or page tabs. Does this mean i can't use the JFBClike button?? But if i don't use these then my users when they click on my facebook appname they will get what? a blank page?, what are the options that i have here?
What i want is, when i click the appname to take me to my website url, no canvas, no page tab or ssl... I've seen this happening on many websites with fb like buttons. Even better if the appname is not appearing at all but instead it says:
"Kappadev likes a link". I click the "link" and it takes me to my site.

Is that possible please and how?

Thank you
Kappadev

Kappadev,
First off.. brilliant, eh? That's something we don't hear often enough! Thanks!

We're currently in the process of evaluating a few different changes. They may do what you're looking for, as well as some other things. It's pretty easy to do too. Please go to your Facebook Application settings area, below:
developers.facebook.com/apps/
Click the "Edit Settings" button and then in the "App on Facebook" section, remove your URLs from the "Secure Canvas URL" and "Canvas URL" settings. Hit save.

That should remove the extra stuff from the Like button that you don't like.

Please let us know how that goes. We're looking into updating Autotune to not automatically set those values, as it does right now, as well.

Best of luck, and thanks,
Alex

thanks for the fast reply.

Facebook is not letting me remove those urls from the "Secure Canvas URL" and "Canvas URL" settings.
Facebook gives me this error:

USER wrote: Error
You have enabled a App on Facebook integration for your app, but have not specified a Canvas URL.
Secure Canvas URL is required when Sandbox Mode is disabled.

It tells me the same if i remove the Page Tab urls too.

Any ideas?

thank you

Try hitting the 'X' in the top right of the "App on Facebook" section instead. That will remove all the settings as well.

Let me know how that goes.

I had press that X before but it wasn't deleting it.
It took me three times now for it to work and finally delete those url... next time i'll insist hehe
It works now and i'm happy. I click on my appname and it takes me to my website url.
Thank you one more time for your great and fast support.
Merry Christmas to all :D

Awesome! Very glad to hear that worked for you. As mentioned, we're evaluating if there are any 'bad' effects from removing those fields and will likely be updating our Autotune to not set the Canvas information except for in special circumstances.

Finally, if you haven't already, please consider leaving a rating and review for JFBConnect, or our support, on the Joomla Extension Directory. It's certainly not required, but very appreciated:

Hope you had a great Christmas, and best of luck with your site,
Alex
