Hello,

could you help me find out where the problem is?
I cannot register an account on the website without facebook. I keep getting "Invalid Token" errors.
I tried with SClogin and with the standard Login module.

I allready disabled the cache in conifguration, disabled the cache plugin, disabled jotcache, ...
Cleared my browser cache...

I do hope you can find the error.

Ellen,
When I try to login, the Facebook popup appears and only says "An error occurred. Please try again later." That usually indicates that your Facebook App ID is incorrect, your App is in Sandbox mode, there's another Facebook extension on your site conflicting (I couldn't see this directly), or there's some other conflict going on.

Can you verify the first 2 things in your Facebook App. If that doesn't work, can you try disabling the JFBAlbum system plugin, which I'm assuming does some sort of Facebook integration, and then try to login on a page that doesn't use JFBAlbum at all? That will eliminate it as the conflict. If it is though, we can hopefully help you re-enable it.

Let us know how that goes.

Thanks,
Alex

Hey

the strange thing is the popup does work for me normally.
the FB developer page says:

App Namespace
musicalonstage
Sandbox Mode
Off

this is the app page on FB
www.facebook.com/appcenter/musicalonstage

Disabling the JFBAlbum system plugin doesn't change anything on the website, at first sight.
(I had to disable the like box at the top -> was using the plugin integration)

Could you test once more?

The problem is still the same...
I had to re-enable the JFBalbum resource loader, cause it causes too many issues at the moment

I definitely don't think you should disable the JFBAlbum plugin permanently, just needed you to test with it disabled.

As for the login issue, I just tried again on your home page, and my account was created as expected. Not sure if you changed anything, or there was a simple hiccup with Facebook. Can you test again and see if you're still having issues? If so, we can investigate more, but from the last test, everything seems fine.

Keep me posted,
Alex

Hi Alex,

that's for the facebook connection, which has always worked perfect ;)
But we sometimes have users without facebook, and it is the normal "registration link" that's making trouble..

Fun thing is that logging in is working perfectly on the frontend...

Ahh, I misunderstood that it was the basic Joomla authentication that was failing. I thought you were saying the Facebook login was breaking. Well, glad to hear that part works :)

Unfortunately, I don't know why the Joomla authentication would be throwing that error. My best suggestions to try are:
* In the Joomla Global Config, increase the "Session Timeout" to something higher than it is; at least 15, but possibly up to 60 or 120 (minutes)
* Try switching your template to something else to see if that has any effect
* Make sure the System - Cache plugin is disabled
* Check that you're running the latest version of Joomla (2.5.8, I believe).

Beyond that, I'm honestly not sure what to suggest. I don't think it's a JFBConnect issue at all. We'll gladly help how we can, but just not sure what it could be..

I Found the error: SEF enabled and a link to the registration page in the menu; combined with a .htaccess rewrite rule... pffff ;-)

One more question: how do I adapt the layout to get the register and forgotten password link display in a table like the normal joomla module does?
I want your version of the SC Login, but with the "register-forgot" table form the other module...
(better, but I don't know if it's possible: just place a link beneath the facebook button: No facebook? which links to the login page.)

If you need css files, or admin access please pm me.

Kindly regards

Ellen
