Hi there,

I've been struggling to find out what is causing my k2 articles to suddenly show some rare code when a user clicks on 'recommend'.
Also I see duplicate OG tags.
I must say that I use sh404sef also on my website but that was always the case.

Take a look at i.e this article www.fruzitime.com/music-release/nieuwe-s...naar-jon-tarifa.html
When you share it shows the ampersands instead of the page description.
So far nothing I tried can help. I use K2 v2.6.1 and I read that maybe this can ce the cause but if so, where can I disable this?

So bottom line this piece of code need to be removed:

K2 v2.6.1 (and I think 2.6.0) started adding their own OG tags to articles. They also do it incorrectly as they aren't using the correct format for the Open Graph tags. Unfortunately I don't think there's any parameter to turn off OG tags within K2. You'd need to modify their code, and I don't know the exact changes that need to be made. I just looked at your site and I'm not actually seeing JFBConnect's Open Graph tags on the page either. Are you sure that our OG integration is enabled in the Social -> Open Graph area?

Our next release of JFBConnect, due out tomorrow, will automatically remove any duplicate tags that are put on the page to prevent this issue going forward with K2 or any other extensions that try to insert their own OG tags. So, basically, if you're using OG in JFBConnect, our tags will be king.. though other extensions can add their own tags as well. We just don't allow duplicate tags.

sh404SEF does have it's own tags it can add, but it looks like those are disabled on your site already.

Hope that helps explain,
Alex

Hi Alzander,

I was only using Sh404sef social plugin. The OG features from JFConnect are disabled otherwise I get duplicates. but...BOTH are good extensions (that's my problem)
On topic...I have SH404sef enabled right now. As I said, I always was using JFConnect to insert the 3 social buttons on my K2 articles an I use Sh404Sef for url management, OG tags etc.

SO why NOT all OG tags are incorrect, just the OG:description ! That makes it more difficult to really find out.

So you think still K2 is the problem? As I NEVER had issues with yours next to SH404SEF.

Honestly, it sounds like you are not using our Open Graph integration at all and K2's integration is stumbling you up. To fix that, you'd need to contact them as I don't know what's wrong with their implementation or the best way to fix it.

From what I can tell though, those OG tags are from K2 and not sh404SEF (they look slightly different when on the page), but I don't see the sh404SEF ones either, which is a little strange.

Hope that helps, but if not, let us know!

Thanks,
Alex
