Hello, I am trying to look for this option in my jFusion environment, but I am not able to find it. Could you please help me locate this option?

I believe that option only exists for certain types of integration. That post that we made in our Common Support Area was from a user that told us that worked for them in phpBB. Not all 'other' types of systems that jFusion integrates with allow for a cookie authentication, so depending on what you are bridging too, that may not be an option.

Hope that explains. If you're having issues, let us know what you're using jFusion to bridge too and we'll help how we can. However, we can't help with all types of integration as we simply don't know jFusion or all the systems it can integrate with very well. It may be something you need to contact jFusion about for more help.

Thanks,
Alex

Hello Alzander, thanks for your reply. In our Joomla environment we are using a bridge between Joomla and Invision Power Board. Account creation is no problem, but signing in with the account credentials created by JFBConnect (auto-register by Facebook) will not work in any way. Could you assist me to fix this problem?
Also, I have send an email regarding this issue (because to understand this issue properly, I have to put some testing information to you, but I won't make this public, as you might understand), what would be the best way to handle this?

Thanks!

You always send me a Private Message if there is information you don't want made public. To send a PM, hit the arrow under my avatar (<

As for your issue, we can gladly look into it, but I don't know jFusion very well and don't know Invision Power Board (IPB) at all. The problem you may run into is if the jFusion integration only works if there is a physical username and password on your Joomla site that is synced to the Invision Power Board. If so, JFBConnect may not work to log the user into the other system because there is no password for the user that can be passed along to the IPB system at all. Facebook never lets us see a password, it simply tells us user '12345' is logged in and we 'trust' that they are right.

That's why the "Use Cookie for Authentication" works on PHPBB. The authentication is done by creating a cookie that tells PHPBB a specific user is logged in. There is no authentication and no password needed. If IPB requires a password for jFusion, I'm not sure how you'll get around that. To know how jFusion or the bridge is implemented, you'd need to contact jFusion or IPB as that's not something we'd be able to determine.

Hope that helps explain the situation, but if you have any questions, just let us know!

Thanks,
Alex

Clear answer, should I send you more information about this issue by private message?

Feel free to send any more information by PM. However, again, I don't know much about jFusion or anything about your forum software. So, I don't know how much we'll be able to help, but we'll gladly try however we can.

Thanks,
ALex
