Topic-icon migration from developing domain is driving me crazy .......

hi,
i'm using JFB on a site in this domian: business-excellence.co.il/
i've developed the site on this sub-domain: business.octopus-media.co.il/

when i first configured the FB app and the JFB Autotune on the developing domain (business.octopu....) i've insert the sub domian as the app domain, etc...

after i've migrated the site to the final domain i've changed all the settings in the FB app, but the settings in JFB, ALL OF THEM is keeping the old domain (business.octopu....). i've tried changing them but i keep getting the message "Facebook API Error: (#100) Unknown fields: auth_dialog_description.". and none of my changes are saved.... i've also tried uninstalling JFB, then cleard the cache and re-installed JFB - but somehow it's still keep the old settings! and i can't figure out where to change them.

pleas advise - i'm lost... :( :/

in addition, i'm only using JFB on this site for the social modules, and maybe later for the "login with facebook" feature. why must i configure all this unrelated settings like Canvas page, Page Tab etc? they are not relevant for my site, since i will never use the app on facebook itself, i will only use it on the site.

thank you in advance for your help...

Yorai,
Facebook changed their application settings slightly. In the FB App area of Autotune, please hit the "Refresh" button. That will re-fetch all the recommended settings from SourceCoast and should let you save properly.

As for the extra settings, you don't need to configure those if you're not going to use them. Autotune makes recommended settings so that you *can* use all the features we offer without having to keep configuring your Facebook App everytime you want to try something new. If you choose to leave those fields blank or just choose "Use Recommended Settings", either way should go smoothly. The Autotune tool is there to make things easier, not more difficult.

Sorry that the changes on Facebook's end are causing you problems, and I hope the Refresh button fixes you up!

Thanks,
Alex

hi Alex,
thank you very much for the quick reply..!
it's funny how somtimes the answer is right there in front of your face but you don't see it. i've hit Refresh and it solved the problem...
i've updated my original message to a green status since you solved my problem - but - i'm still getting the "Facebook API Error: (#100) Empty parameters cannot be used for migrations" error... the only different is that now there are no red signals on the autotune configuration tabs... so it seems like everything is ok but the error is still there. the message appears after i click "update application".

i've searched the forum and on a different topic you answer that the refresh button should solve this problem too. well i still see it... pleas advise.
thanks

Yorai,
Not sure why you're getting the #100 error about migrations. We just updated Autotune to add the December and January migrations that were recently announced. If you try again, maybe that will fix the error. Other than that, not sure what is going wrong as we can't recreate it an no other users have reported it.

For now, it sounds like your settings are being saved and this isn't causing a problem. So, I wouldn't be worried about it either way. If you feel it is causing any issues though, just let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

We're looking into why you might be seeing that error, but it's not something we can recreate. I don't think that error is going to cause any issues with your functionality, especially since the migrations are set separately from all other settings. Additionally, those 2 rollup migrations really can be set either way as they don't affect JFBConnect at all.

With that said, if you would, please login to the Facebook App Developer area and edit your app. In the Advanced area, please post what migrations your app shows as available. That will help us match up your available settings with what Autotune is suggesting for available migrations and hopefully narrow down what's wrong.

Thanks,
Alex
